Welcome to EMAT


Welcome to the website of the Emergency Medicine Association of Tanzania (EMAT). The EMAT is a non-profit association, which was found in January 2011 and attained a permanent registration from registrar of societies of Tanzania in May 2011. The main aim of EMAT is pioneering, promoting and advocating the Development of Emergency Medicine in Tanzania. All health care professionals with active involvement in emergency care in Tanzania are eligible for membership. EMAT is a member of AFEM and IFEM, and the Official journal of EMAT is AFJEM.

The African Federation for Emergency Medicine (AFEM) is dedicated to supporting emergency care across Africa. The African Federation for Emergency Medicine is an international association composed of African national emergency medicine organisations that are members of the AFEM as defined by these bylaws. AFEM represents a co-ordinating consortium of these organizations.

AFJEM

AFJEM
The African Journal of Emergency Medicine (AfJEM, SNIP 0.43) is the official journal of the African Federation for Emergency Medicine. It is the only peer-reviewed, scientific journal aimed specifically at supporting emergency care across Africa. AfJEM publishes original research, reviews, brief reports of novel scientific investigations, case reports as well as commentary and correspondence related to topics of scientific, ethical, social and economic importance to emergency care in Africa (ISSN: 2211-419X)

IFEM

The International Federation for Emergency Medicine is an international association composed of national emergency medicine organisations that are members of the IFEM as defined by these bylaws. IFEM represents a co-ordinating consortium of these organisations.

MAT

MAT
The Medical Association of Tanzania (MAT) is registered as a Non Governmental Organisation under the societies ordinance SONO 4102. It was formed in 1965. The association brings together medical professionals eligible for practice in Tanzania. MAT is an association of medical professionals practicing in Tanzania. The association has more than 1,000 registered members countrywide practicing in the private and public sector. Any medical practitioner registered by the medical Council of Tanganyika can be a member of the association.
