TRAINERS: Courses are run and moderated by certified emergency healthcare providers and involve didactic sessions, practical sessions and simulations.
LOCATION: EMAT Headquarters at Muhimbili National Hospital or on the location of your choice (subject to additional costs).
ACCREDITATION: Upon successful completion of the course, trainees are offered EMAT Certificates. In courses where there is MUHAS accreditation, a MUHAS certificate can be issued at an additional cost.
DESCRIPTION: EMAT has recognized the need to deliver high quality training in the areas of basic emergency care and Advance emergency care to support life of critically ill patients. This course focuses on medical emergencies which healthcare providers may come across on, either in the casualty area or in the wards. It includes discussion on commonly-encountered emergencies in Tanzania. the course includes hands-on practice on skills needed to approach these medical emergencies. PAEDIATRIC EMERGENCY CARE TRAINING (PECT)
DESCRIPTION: Paediatric Emergency Care training is a 2-day course aimed at improving the skills of healthcare providers involved in the care of paediatric patients in an emergency setting, be it in the casualty area or general ward. The course includes training on most commonly encountered emergency conditions in Tanzania and how to approach them even in resource-limited settings. FIRST AID TRAINING (FAT)
DESCRIPTION: This basic training is offered to non-medic personnel working in various companies (self or employed). It aims at providing the best guidance on how to approach medical emergencies that happen in the absence of a medical personnel. BASICS OF EMERGENCY CARE (BEC)
DESCRIPTION: BEC by EMAT is an intensive course on aimed at improving the skills of healthcare providers in managing any emergency in patients they encounter. This is a theoretical as well as a practical course, with some time spent on hands-on practice of emergency skills utilized in the initial stabilization of both medical and trauma patients. PRIMARY TRAUMA CARE (PTC)
