PhD Fellowship

The EMAT PhD Fellowship supports local emergency medicine specialists and specialist nurses in attaining tertiary-level training that builds leadership capacity within Tanzania’s emergency medicine field. Fellows receive funding for two academic years, including tuition costs and a living stipend.

Eligibility

• Tanzanian resident, full faculty member, and active EMAT participant
• Completed an emergency medicine residency or Master's in Critical Care & Trauma nursing from a government-recognized institution
• Minimum two years of clinical or academic experience in Tanzanian emergency medicine or nursing programs
• Holds a clinical or academic position in a public Tanzanian institution enabling local faculty training and mentoring
• Proof of enrollment in a well-established PhD or Fellowship program at a university within Africa
• Maintains good academic standing throughout the fellowship period
